I'm very grateful that you mentioned this Substack site on our mutual friend Hugh Hewitt's estimable radio show. You provide an important countermeasure to the Hamas stenographers at the NY Times and elsewhere in the media.
And it’s not as if the Gaza Ministry of Health has a proven track record for accuracy, objectivity or honesty over the years. So even if it were entirely unrelated to Hamas, anything coming from that source should engender great skepticism and the burden of proof placed squarely on it.
Two asides, Sen. Chris Murphy (-CT), a man not known for having any great sympathy for Israel, attended a confidential briefing on the blast in the hospital parking lot and declared that the proof of Israel’s innocence was “definitive”. So, given the source, that’s good enough for me.
Well, that and the video, the audio of the conversation between Hamas terrorists, the two detonations and the unlikelihood that after the the PIJ missile misfired, it hit the earth without incident or trace while simultaneously an Israeli fighter sent a missile into a random parking lot.
Second, French media is reporting that the death toll might be somewhere between 10-50, but I haven’t seen this reported in the U.S. media.
I do think that all US media should come clean on the restrictions their reporters, stringers and handlers labor under both in Gaza and in areas controlled by the PA. That context would seem crucial to any reader or listener. Why it’s being withheld is for them to explain.
Or will be having another CNN moment when, after Saddam Hussein was toppled, CNN admitted that its coverage in Iraq had been compromised for decades. Apparently, it was more important to maintain access and provide misleading information than leave and provide no platform for regime propaganda. That seems an apt description of the devil’s bargain the media have made with Hamas & Co.
Usually when the truth comes out the Palestinian apologists retaliate with “you’re going to really believe the israelis?”
Its orwellian
