The issue is obviously not "lack of economic opportunities". Its the extraordinary radicalization and indoctrination of the entire Palestinian population to desire mass murder and to refuse to accept less than the total end of Israel. This state of affairs has been enabled for 75 years by the United Nations and its horrible UNWRA. This is what has to change.
President Trump has floated a not quite concrete idea about the future of Gaza. I am guessing that Trump now has everyone's attention. Nothing is written in stone except that the same old empty destructive UNRWA promises to the Palestinians of a state based on the 1947 United Nations partition of Palestine and the right of return of Palestinian refugees to this state has died in the Hamas terror tunnels that were constructed under the watchful eyes of UNRWA employees.
The west is delusional if they think anything will be different “this time” with the Palestinians. Finish with the immoral hostage exchange. Fortify the boundaries of Gaza with Israel. Embargo Gaza until Hamas and any other terrorists surrender or vacate. Do not allow one cent of reconstruction until the surrender is accomplished. There are no innocents. Finish this battle and win the war.
Regardless of the questionable real-estate-mogul-hubris wrapper on his pronouncement, I applaud Trump for getting Arab population transfer out into the world conversation where it belongs and dealing hopefully a final death blow to the two-state suicide solution. He broke the "Kahane Taboo", ill-named because no less than Herzl, Ben-Gurion, Weizmann, and lots of sane goyim have also seen separation in the mould of India and Pakistan is the only path to even an uneasy peace in the Hold Land and an end of ground-based terror against Jews by Arabs.
I don't applaud him for simultaneously perpetuating the brain-dead 'head-and-stomachs' thinking that material health (jobs, money, education, shiny condo towers) will deradicalize the Palestinian Arabs. Their hate is theologically driven, not economically driven, and deeper than any of the tunnels in Gaza. They are not the oppressed chattel of a terror regime, they vote 85% for that terror regime, whether in PA or Hamas clothes. Thousands of their proletariat joined in October 7, from grandmas down to grade schoolers. They are a death cult replete with multi-generational anti-semitic brainwashing that makes the Hitler Youth look like a temporary flirtation with Jew hatred. They CANNOT be rehabilitated and we need to shake ourselves of any delusion to the contrary. Permanent separation from them is the only solution.
Trump is right - Palestinians lack the necessary elements that could lead to the creation of a state. They have no viable leadership, they are welfare entity that exists primarily on humanitarian aid from other countries and have no path to economic development. Most importantly, their “self-determination” is based solely on the desire to destroy Israel. Thankfully, Trump said the quiet part out loud, acknowledging their lack of self-sufficiency and confronting other Arab states on their refusal to participate. We shall see…
Thank you for your clear headed comments. The Palestinians are rejected by every country because of their complete buyin to a culture of hatred and death. I feel sorry for them but who needs them other than the Muslim jiadists?
Some of the comments are fascinating. So far nothing has really changed in the terrorist Jihadi Manifesto. President Trump is trying to make it a little more stable. Resolution of the problem is almost impossible. Some of the suggestions about President Trump from the left are truly bizarre. All that being said, he has done more to stabilize the Middle East than anyone else. Why not give someone who knows what success is and how to get there some room to succeed. We've seen what the last 4 years have been like. We know that in the first Trump Administration there was no Ukrainian War and Middle East terrorism was at a minimum and the Border of the United States was more secure. We also know what caused inflation under the last Administration. President Trump was elected to finish the job he started. I suggest people accept the election and the direction. At the end of his four-year term we can all judge how successful he was.
“Why not give someone who knows what success is and how to get there some room to succeed?”
Are you suggesting that surrendering Afghanistan to the Taliban was a “success”? How will a return of Western imperialism be perceived by Arab nations still reeling from previous colonialism? With friends like Trump, you don’t need enemies.
"In February 2020, the Trump administration and the Taliban signed the United States–Taliban deal in Doha, Qatar, which stipulated fighting restrictions for both the US and the Taliban, and in return for the Taliban's counter-terrorism commitments, provided for the withdrawal of all NATO forces from Afghanistan by 1 May 2021."
Biden attempted to honor the Trump-Pompeo's agreement but the compromised Afghan government collapsed catastrophically. The dirty deed was done before Biden was on the scene.
It seems the "Trump Derangement Syndrome" works two ways...
The agreement between Trump directly with the Taliban without input from the Afghan government or our NATO allies was the ‘execution’ of the Afghan government and the beginning of the end. The Afghan government and our military allies had been thrown under the bus. This crime scene has Trump’s and Pompeo’s fingerprints all over it. Now Trump is throwing Pompeo under the bus as well.
The Taliban won the war when the Doha Agreement was signed. HR McMaster characterized the Doha Agreement as a “surrender” and he served in Trump’s first term and left the administration on good terms. Plus, Zalmay Khalizad was Trump’s special envoy to Afghanistan and he was satisfied with how everything played out in 2021. Finally, Kash Patel was tasked with making it impossible for Biden to reverse course in Afghanistan and Trump is promoting him because Trump believes He did such a good job in a short time under Trump.
It's essential that the Gazans' cannot spin the end of the war as a victory. While it's obvious to the West, they lost, it is not obvious to the Gazans' they lost. Losing people and an economy is not sufficient to admit defeat. However, losing land is sufficient to admit defeat.
Donald Trump's proposal that the US take over the Gaza Strip and develop it into a beach paradise was concocted to distract us from Trump's real agenda. Trump needed a powerful distraction to divert our attention from his real agenda which is demolish the U.S. government, replace government workers with machines and give the savings to his rich friends. He is the master of distraction as editorial opinions and headlines all over he country reveal. Even Trump was surprised that people took his Gaza proposal seriously. He had to state that he was not ready to implement the scheme. There is no way on earth that the President will put American boots on the ground to take out Palestinian terrorist groups which would have to be done to pacify the area in preparation for redevelopment.
Trump has been using distraction tactics for years. I'm surprised that we fell for it again. The cost to America is that every moment we spend analyzing this scam scheme, we fail to defend American workers, the Constitution, and the rule of law, exactly the outcome the President intended.
This weak-ass 'distraction theory' has been a leftist rhetorical staple for decades. It's so tired. It was also used to slam Bill Clinton for bombing Belgrade and firing cruise missiles at Bin Laden as a way to 'distract' from his affair with Lewinsky. Give it a rest. Trump can walk and chew gum at the same time. His desire to create better future in the Levant is genuine and long-held. The 'shiny condo towers' vision may be somewhat unrealistic, but the benefit of getting Palestinian emigration out into the discussion and putting the Palestinians and their supporters on the back foot is undeniable. The Palis are lucky Israel hasn't loaded them on trucks already and dumped them in the Jordanian desert. Any other nation would have after October 7.
The left holds onto its delusions. It has nothing else. They used to hold on to the Soviet Union. That's gone. They used to hold on to the National socialists, that's gone. They used to hold on to Castro he's gone. They used to hold on to Chavez but he's gone. What's left of socialism is a catastrophe. It was always a catastrophe therefore it needed distraction Theory and delusions. Woke is a good example. There is an irrational idea in the system. It was created by the Communists to destroy the West. Those are grew up understanding the Soviet Union are not so easily confused. If anybody would like to discuss the benefits of socialism versus the cost I would love to have that discussion online anytime. Let's start with Joe number one Stalin.
What was your favorite Trump achievement in his first term? The Covid vaccine? $8 trillion in added debt? Record fracking bankruptcies in 2020? His surrender to the Taliban? Joe Kent’s wife and 3 other Americans dying in a terrorist bombing in his haphazard withdrawal of Syria? His first military order killing a little American girl and 9 of her friends and a SEAL dying in the worthless operation?
First, we can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results -- the very definition of insanity. Something big had got to change. Move people out of the Pacific Palisades to rebuild and it's just a burden the residents must bear. Move the Palestinians out of Gaza and it's "ethnic cleansing".
Second, as a negotiator does, I think Trump often puts out what seems untenable as an opening bid, in order to anchor the discussion, and make his next offer feel more acceptable, in comparison.
Third, Trump demanding more from the rest of the world is growing on me. Pay your fair share to NATO. If we supply you with bombs and/or protection, we should get something back. George W. Bush was going to pay for the Iraq war with their oil. If not their oil then surely the Kuwaiti oil. If Ukraine wants our armaments, then we should get their rare earth elements. This is not materially different than the Lend-Lease Act.
Truth be told, at some point, I'd love Trump to tell China that we're reducing their ownership of American bonds by an amount equal to the cost that the United States incurred to overcome the Wuhan lab leak.
Bullshit. Another TDS concoction. He won, Kamala lost, the Dems are progressive left and the voters of this country rejected their pretzel logic wokeness. Get over it.
Why are you on this Substack if you hold such views? You’re clearly not a supporter of Israel. How can you fail to see the beauty in Pres. Trump’s support for Israel and his honesty and courage in dealing with the Palestinian scourge of hatred and belligerence? He is a huge breath of fresh air for the Jews, the Israelis, Americans, and all freedom loving people. And, P.S., it’s the Dems you’re describing- not Trump. They are the ones who packed our government at all levels, as well as our universities, with woke, Anti-Semitic Marxists. They are the ones who sold out to big money. They are the ones who enable crime and open borders. They are the ones who quash free speech. And they are the ones who have made life for many Americans almost unbearable as a result.
I am a major supporter of Israel writing all the time to defend it. But my eyes are not closed to Trump's style of governing which is to make crazy proposals that absorbs everybody's attention permitting him to rob the bank unobserved.
All true, but why continue the MSM canard that Trump is chaotic? This is the least chaotic administration in American history, everything planned in utmost detail, BaruchHaShem, as this excellent article explains.... https://eko.substack.com/p/override
“It remains to be seen how 2.5m Gazans can be relocated.” Seriously? Was it 5 or 6m Syrians who were relocated during Assad’s butchery? Ask Mayorkas how to do it. He didn’t do it successfully of course as we have something like 20-30m illegal aliens who were allowed to march into our country.. but he might have some ideas how to hide them in 5 or six countries.. Egypt Jordan Ireland and Spain who adore them. The Sinai is pretty empty..
Exactly. And why do American progressives want Palestinians to remain in Gaza when they want all other foreigners in crapholes to come to America? It’s because they hate Jews and want Palestinians ruining Israel.
Yes Trump threw a big monkey wrench into the “global community’s” plans for Gaza. But step back and set aside the politics of the situation for a minute.
How could Gaza be rebuilt with two million residents with no adequate shelter living amidst the reconstruction? Why would construction workers and construction companies be willing to locate in Gaza for years of rebuilding, with the constant threat of Hamas terrorists deciding to take action always present?
Who would pay for the billions of dollars to do the reconstruction while knowing another Hamas/Israel war is inevitable.
It’s obvious to me that the Carter/Bush/Obama needed a wrecking ball taken to it. It is pure failure… I honestly do not believe that Trump believes that jihadist savages have any interest in economic prosperity.. but Trump can throw the carrot out there.. and once he throws the carrot out there and it’s rejected, he is free to use the bunker busting stick. After the hostages are returned, there will be no mercy… destroy everything, salt the earth, start from zero.

In the context of the 78 year war against Israel I am not sure who "this guy" is or who "you or any of us" are.
The status quo now is Iran's war against Israel. The status quo is the Hamas and Islamic Jihad armies in Gaza and the West Bank.
OK, but the population of "Palestine" is 5.5 million. They all are not going to magically disappear or voluntarily become someone else's problem. What's the solution?
Yes because the sons of the sons of the sons of 500.000 arabs from jordan and egyptians are considered palis no matter where they are born, they could have been born in zurich and they continue to be palis because of unraw, they are the only refugees in the world with such privilege and money
He can’t because it doesn’t. He has an axe to grind that he’s been grinding for some time. Those who have such a bleeding heart for the indoctrinated peoples of terrorists have no qualms about wanting to unseat a democratically elected leader. That has been the aim of the democrats in the US for so long they don’t bother whispering it any longer.

I think you are a bit confused JOHN.
It was JOE who SURRENDERED AFGHANISTAN in the WORST possible way not PRESIDENT TRUMP.
I'm sorry that you have TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.
Just relax things will be better over the next 4 years.
Who signed the Doha Agreement with the Taliban?

It wasn't the agreement it was the execution of it. You really need to get your facts straight.
The agreement between Trump directly with the Taliban without input from the Afghan government or our NATO allies was the ‘execution’ of the Afghan government and the beginning of the end. You don’t seem to know that it was Biden the zombie who gave up in the worst way. He should have been arrested.
Nope, Trump surrendered to the Taliban…and it was the right call! Cry more, neocon!
You are grossly confused!!! stop the non-sense!!
It is all documented and I even provided a link to a factual overview of the events. How specifically am I “confused”?

Insulting me is your acknowledgement that you are unable to argue against my assertions.
Not at all. Your assertions are a figment of your imagination. They can’t be proven or disproven, simple as that.

Not sure about the bond angle, but DEFINITELY China needs to pay for COVID. World’s biggest class-action lawsuit!
Trump did nothing to China even when they expected a strike near the end of his term…totally nutz that Trump let them off the hook.
Bullshit. Another TDS concoction. He won, Kamala lost, the Dems are progressive left and the voters of this country rejected their pretzel logic wokeness. Get over it.
Yes Trump won. but he unfit for office and you know it.
"Give the money to his rich friends?" Boy, have you been brainwashed.
That is exactly what Trump plans to do. Insulting me won't change that. By the way, I used to enjoy your novels.
