Not to diminish the threats outlined here but if anyone is up to the task Israel, and the IDF under the Churchillian like leadership of Netanyahu, can make it happen. Bravo Zulu.
In all of this I am reminded of how during the US civil war, Abraham Lincoln replied to the question: "Is God on our side?" with the reverse: "You should be asking, are we on His?"
Of the threats that you mention, I would probably think that an Iranian nuclear bomb would be the most frightening, and I suspect that with Donald Trump returning to the White House in January, the Iranians will accelerate the process.
"The territory’s (Jordan Valley) topography likewise presents a clear advantage, allowing Israeli troops to effectively monitor incoming threats, whether from Jordan, Iraq, or Syria. It also requires any invading forces to launch an uphill attack when proceeding westward, making defense easier and granting Israel valuable time to mobilize reserve troops." (JINSA, Israel's Security Imperatives in the Jordan Valley - JINSA)
Action now against Iran has the best opportunity for positive results. Israel is showing results. With the help of the United States, a lasting peace in the region can be achieved. It can be argued that the U.S. intervention in Iraq redirected the focus of the bad actors in the region away from America. The language of the region is strength.
While true Israel has a number of existential threats, but you missed the one most glaring and dangerous which is the domestic threat of the far right Ultra-Orthodox Jews. It is they who have the desire and power to tear the nation apart internally and feed the worst stereotypes of the antisemitics worldwide.
It is ironic that both Israel and the U.S. are being endangered by far-right factions within at the same time. Trump and Netanyahu are making deals with the devil at the expense of their nations' longterm survival. "We have met the enemy and it is ourselves." ~ Pogo
I've stopped arguing with people like you (waste of my time.) Have your eyes been wide open during these past 4 yrs? If so (and you liked it) go move to another country.

Thank you for your superb insight, always, M Oren!

John - the US is threatened by Trump? You mean the "Time Person of the Year!"
OK, the U.S. is threatened both by Trump and Time magazine...

Ditto…
Is it true that the IAF eliminated the only airforce base located in Syrian “Kurdistan”? Is this a set back for the goal of an independent Kurdistan?
