How many years have we been hearing about the Iranian nuclear threat? These subhumans who have an apocalyptic worldview will use these weapons. Their mission is the annhilation of The Jewish state. I am a goy and I think Israel needs to win this battle. I lived in Israel for a year and have a lasting sense of admiration for the country and its people. I think what is happening in the U.S. right now with anti-zionism (which is anti-semitism) is absolutely shameful. If Israel would let me become an Israeli, I would. Not just saying that. Now the US is threatening to withhold weapons yet again claiming that the poor Gazans aren't getting enough supplies! How do you rope-a-dope (yes they really are the third word) the US?
I suspect that the US is reacting to the calls to lay a proper (and lawful under the Law of Armed Conflict) siege to northern Gaza to finally root out all Hamas terrorists. The problem, as always, is that Hamas is impeding the Gazans from fleeing and the US is making this Israel’s problem once again. It’s another example of changing the rules during a conflict. Israel is the only country that must feed not only an enemy population but under circumstances where everyone knows that Hamas is siphoning off large quantities of food and fuel to keep its war machine going while turning a tidy profit on the black market to pay its terror troops - where the LOAC requires no such thing of any combatant. It’s almost as if the US wants to see Iran’s “equity” that threatens Israel’s south survives to fight another day.
Perhaps Israel can ask that the US prevail upon Egypt to open its border to Gazans who wish to flee with a promises that Israel will allow any Gazan who wishes to return the opportunity to do so. How many ultimately would want to return, especially if Hamas somehow remains in control of any part of the Strip, remains unknowable.
The betting is that a majority of Gazans would take this once in a lifetime opportunity to leave Egypt for Europe - which is perhaps the real reason the West immediately acquiesced in this particular border closing. Maybe Israel can let it be known that the Democratic contender for President should not be known for having successfully worked to close the border between Egypt and Gaza rather than the one separating the US and Mexico which Biden had tasked he with doing.
The Problem is Israel has not been allowed to WIN. That's how wars end. During The Cold War, this was understandable, The USSR was Not going to allow The Arabs to Lose. The Cold War has been over for 33 years. Get Rid Of The Mullahs!

I listened to your interview on Sapir yesterday and not only could I not stop thinking about your observations re the current war, but also my memories of your dad, a colleague of many years. I first met him in 1985 at an annual continuing education meeting of hospital administrators of Jewish Hospitals. Lester was the most senior in our group and very respected. I also met your wonderful mother and one of your sisters. I remember my first conversation with your dad because he was so direct and serious. After he introduced himself, he said "How do you feel about Israel?" I was not expecting that question, which then led to a long discussion about Israel and him telling me about you. Over the years we would occasionally speak by phone and I always looked forward to seeing him and your mom. As I read this column, I could just hear his voice teaching you to box.
I miss Lester and know his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched. I certainly understand your point about delivering a knock-out.

Dream on. The civilians should have been let out of Gaza a year ago but the US admin wanted them there almost as much as Hamas
