He was the first Jewish billionaire to latch on to Trump in 2015, because he shrewdly foresaw that Israel would one day become an international pariah because of the Palestinians, as it now is. Under those circumstances, Adelson realized that Israel would desperately need a much more right-wing, authoritarian, Stephen Miller government to remain totally loyal to Israel the pariah. With a great gambler’s intuition, Adelson instantly saw Trump as just the Dear Leader Jews would need to keep a pariah Israel joined at the hip to America. It was obvious that a liberal Dem president like Obama, in a liberal-dominated America, would threaten to join Europe and the UN in pressuring Israel on Palestinian statehood, just as America had joined the world in ending apartheid in South Africa. That Adelson could not allow, so he and Miriam put all their Zionist chips on Trump. I guess there’s no danger that Miller’s White House will call for a Palestinian state any time soon, but Saudi money sure does clearly outweigh Jewish money in Trump’s lizard brain. So who knows what policy the Gulf States can buy from the Trump crime family in the end. It’s so frustrating when people you think you’ve bought later sell you out to a higher bidder.

For example, when democrat politicians turned on Israel for fear of losing Muslim votes during the last election, I viewed it as a harbinger of things to come. The U.S.could quickly sacrifice Israel if the wrong people found it politically expedient.
Millions of uninformed Americans on the Left side of the political spectrum, already view Israel as an overly aggressive stepchild that America supports with billions of tax dollars in the form of military aid. They don’t know that besides our shared moral and democratic values, Israel is a key trading parter that makes huge investments in America where Israel’s military intelligence and advanced technologies in the natural sciences, agriculture, environment, cyber security, conservation, energy, and healthcare make life better for Americans.
A weakness I see in Israel is the Jewish State needs to do a much better job of showing America how valuable of an ally she is. Without Israel, America would be as lost coping with Middle East challenges as the Israelites were while wandering the desert for 40 years. While the alliance between Israel and America is critical to both countries, I would be hard pressed to say which country receives the greatest benefit. The impact of American - Israeli alliance is as wide as it is deep.
With yesterday's announcement of the success of the Iron Beam high power laser technology jointly developed by Rafael, the IMOD and local Israeli start-ups, it will be a game-changer in the swarting out of the relentless barrage of ICBM missiles from Yemen of civilian targets in Israel. No doubt this will attract US interest. I hope that Israel will stand fast and not share this technology with other countries. Some "aid" packages enrich the giver and ultimately make the receiver who created the system a target for progressives in Congress who have no love for Israel.

Israel must have an indigenous weapons industry. The current dependence on single supplier is not stable and won't last for the long term.
